1. Kidder House Marker
Inscription.
Shingle style house built as rental property for George W. Kidder (1844-1915), saw and planning mill owner; and wife, Florence Hill (1855-1917). Inherited by daughter, Florence Kidder Moore (1888-1971), wife of Louis T. Moore (1885-1961), secretary and industrial agent for Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, Vice President of Roger Moore’s Sons Co., building materials, and secretary of Davis-Moore Paint Co.

From the National Register Nomination:
Two-story, side passage house with shingled second floor which flares out to meet top of first floor, which is clapboard. Single and triple hexagonal lights over one sash; hip roof with dormer; transom, sidelights: square, paneled posts on brick piers.

2. Kidder House Marker
(marker is between front entrance and front windows)
to Wilmington and became City Editor of the Wilmington Dispatch. In 1921, Moore was appointed executive secretary of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, a position he held until 1941. From 1941 until his death in 1961, Moore continued to research, promote, and protect the historical integrity and natural beauty of his hometown. Moore published many historical essays and articles. During his last 14 years, Moore headed the Wilmington Historical Commission.

2. Wilmington Through the Lens of Louis T. Moore.
The 1,000 photographs he took while serving as director of the Chamber of Commerce form a summary of life in a Southern coastal town in the 1920s and 30s: natural and architectural wonders, the hilarity of the Roaring 20s, stealth of Prohibition, tragedies of the Great Depression, and the creativity of rebuilding lives and livings.
