Tarboro in Edgecombe County, North Carolina — The American South (South Atlantic)
Edgecombe County Supreme Sacrifice Memorial
We dedicate this plaque to our sons and daughters from Edgecombe County who bravely answered their nation's call and gave their lives in defense of freedom.
Let this Memorial and these flags forever honor them and their families, and may their love of this land remind us with each passing breeze that freedom is rarely free, that the toll of war is great and that there is no higher sacrifice than to lay down one's life so that others may be free.
Erected 2003 by Edgecombe County.
