Inscription.
Neoclassical Revival style house built as an investment property for John Frederick Rulfs Jr. (1869-1953), co-owner of Peterson and Rulfs, Boots and Shoes; and wife, Alice Smith Rendleman (1881-1948), native of Salisbury, NC. The house remained in the family for 60 years.
