Marker is on South Cherokee Road just south of Memorial Street Southwest, on the left when traveling south. Regarding Dr. Brown's Townhouse. Contributing Property, Social Circle Historic District, National Register of Historic Places #80001257.
From the National Register Nomination:
The Dr. Brown Town House, on the east side of Cherokee Street, was built just prior to the Civil War. This Plantation Plain or "I" House has brackets, a full length two-story double gallery, trabeated lights at the entrance, and a four paneled door with arched upper panels. Later additions were made to the rear of the house prior to 1920. The house is situated on a rise and the yard is shaded by large trees and is well maintained.
