Dedicated on Memorial Day, May 26, 2003, the Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza marker consists of bronze letters mounted on a curved limestone wall adjacent to the Sun City Texas Activities Center and parking lot. The wall is approximately 110 feet wide and 5 feet tall, and is in front of a stand of memorial Italian Cypress trees and nine flagpoles bearing our national flag and the flags of the US Army, the USN, the USMC, the USAF, the US Space Force, the Coast Guard, the US Merchant marine, and a POW flag.

The two most recognized events celebrated at the site are the annual Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies. Both events feature a full program of music, service recognition, and a guest speaker. In 2023 the Veterans Memorial Plaza added a Patriot Day ceremony in remembrance of those Americans and veterans who died in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
