1845 - Miami & Erie Canal Opens

1847 The St. Marys flour mill built by Scott, Linzee and Co. was the first industry to use power from the Miami & Erie Canal water in St. Marys.

1860 to 1870 Robert B. Gordon, added three Grist Mills, a woolen mill, whip stock factory, linseed oil mill, stave factory & saw mill.

1895 Fire destroyed several mill buildings, but NOT the original mill.

1896 Gordon, Hauss & Folk formed a company and rebuilt some of the mill buildings.

1900 to 1950's The grain mill was operated by the Gordon, Hauss & Folk Co.

1955 The Heinrich family purchased holdings of Gordon, Hauss and Folk Co. Arthur Walther operated the mills.

1972 The Walther family sold the property back to the Heinrich Leasing Co. The grain mill stopped operation and was used as a storage building for the St. Marys Hardware.

2010 The "Save the Mill" group was formed.

2014 The City of St. Marys decided to save and reuse the building as an important Historic Mill in St. Marys.

2015 The St. Marys Hardware closed, and the mill was emptied.

2017 The City of St. Marys acquired the Mill property and developed a renovation plan.

2020 Renovation of the Mill began.
