American House
This establishment grew up with Maumee from the earliest years Originally but in 1832, it was home to travelers and hosted countless balls, plays and banquets units demise in the late 1900s. A gas station, (etc.) subsequently occupied this site until State Home Savings built its Maumee office here in 1959.

The Depot
The Toledo Bowling Green and Southern Railway built a bridge over the Maumee River and changed the route to Allen Street in 1908. It was called home to a lot of different businesses thru the years. It now is home to Jacky's Depot (eatery) and the Station Shoppe (Antique's).

Much of the history of Maumee occurred in this Uptown area. Enough old buildings of distinction remain that the core of the Uptown has been designated an Historic District. The Uptown continues to change as it always has but remains proud and mindful of what went on before.
