The first Camellia Pageant was held in 1934.
Dr. Edwin Stephens, first president of Southwestern Louisiana Institute, retired in January 1938. He died on November 5, 1938.
Lether E Frazar was named SLI's second president in January 1938.
SLI's campus grew dramatically with the construction of more than a dozen buildings.
