1. Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860 - 1941) Marker
Inscription. Internationally renowned Polish pianist, composer, and statesman who served as Prime Minister of Poland in 1919. Active in the cause of Polish independence during World War I from his Wicker Park headquarters, he led rallies for this cause in public sites in the City; and, in 1932, he was designated an Honorary Citizen of Chicago.

Regarding Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860–1941). Ignacy Jan Paderewski, the famed Polish musician and politician, was one of the star performers in 1893 at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago, a city with a long Polish-American heritage. When Paderewski died in 1941, his belongings were donated to the Polish Museum of America, located one mile southeast of Wicker Park in Chicago's West Town neighborhood.
