a part of Pawling, New York. They went to Stillwater, N.Y. in 1782 and he preached his first sermon on December 21st– the day he was 30 years old. He was ordained in 1789; preached three years in eastern N.Y. and then in 1794 they moved directly to Scipio Center, Cayuga County, N.Y. He was the first person in Scipio Center to dispense medicine, although he was not a regular physician. In 1800, they removed to Aurelius (now Fleming), and was the Pastor there until he died. Being a missionary, he established a number of other Baptist Churches in New York State. They spent active lives devoted to love, to duty and to usefulness."
