Location. 42° 59.757′ N, 88° 23.042′ W. Marker is in Wales, Wisconsin, in Waukesha County. It is in Genesee Township. Marker is at the intersection of State Trunk Highway 83 (S. Wales Road) and W. Brandybrook Road, on the right when traveling north on State Trunk Highway 83 (S. Wales Road). 20 feet northeast of Jerusalem Cemetery marker. 45 feet east of State Trunk Highway 83. The marker is visible from the South Wales Road - a helpful landmark is the fencing running alongside the cemetery on that road, as the marker is about even with the northern end of that fence. Regarding Capel Log. The first building was constructed in 1845 and became known as Capel Log (Church made of logs). It was located where Jerusalem Cemetery is today. In 1859 it was replaced by a new frame church at the same location. In 1870 it was enlarged by adding 20 feet to the front. Additional details can be found in Wales Centennial 1882 - 1982 available through the Lakeshores Library System.
