Since this wing of the building was not built until 1929, this plaque was likely initially located elsewhere—perhaps on the side of the building that became an inside wall when the addition was built. Alternatively, the Class of 1920 gave this plaque on their 10th anniversary and placed it where it is now.

3. “Old” Ypsilanti High School, Now Cross Street Village
The building has three entrances. This plaque is at the rightmost entrance, hidden by the trees at the far right of this photograph. The school building has been converted into a 104 unit apartment building for seniors and is now called “Cross Street Village, a 55+ Community.” It is in the National Register of Historic Places.

This photograph shows the three entrances that face Cross Street. This plaque was installed in the rightmost entranceway, the entrance to the east wing, which was completed in 1929. The west wing is the original building, which was built in 1915.
