Regarding The Hollywood Cross. Known today as the Hollywood Cross, it is a 32-foot high steel cross located just above the Ford Amphitheatre and overlooking the Cahuenga Pass, the Hollywood Freeway, and the Hollywood Bowl. It was originally erected as a memorial for Christine Wetherill Stevenson, who established the Pilgrimage Theatre, now known as the Ford Amphitheatre.
In the early 1980s the cross fell into disrepair. It was rebuilt in 1993. The city donated the cross to The Church on the Way in Van Nuys.
