Regarding Auguste R. Marquis Residence. Auguste Marquis came to the United States in 1886 and became a citizen the next year. He was heir to Chateau du Chatelard in Switzerland as well as a successful gold miner. He moved to the West Adams district of Los Angeles, and built his mansion in 1904.

Today the mansion is a filming location, notable because of the HBO series Six Feet Under, as the Fisher & Sons and later Fisher-Diaz funeral home.

The Filipino Federation of America was originally formed in Los Angeles in 1925 to promote friendly relations between the Philippines and the United States.
The headquarters is currently located in Stockton, California.
