Regarding Diedrich Busch House. Excerpt from the National Register nomination:
This house, although located in the McClellan Heights district, is more properly associated with the Village of East Davenport, an industrial community established in the 1850's primarily as a lumber milling center. The house is a representative example of the “McClelland” form, which was built in significant numbers throughout Davenport from the late 1860's until nearly the turn of the century. Bracketed eaves and a polygonal bay window on one side suggest Italianate influences. The round-arched attic windows in the front gable end are a recurring motif in 19th century Davenport's domestic architecture.

Diedrich Busch, a Prussian immigrant, built this residence around 1877. The Busch family formerly lived above their business, a grocery store in the Village of East Davenport a few blocks to the west. Busch built a number of residential and commercial buildings in the East Davenport area. He retired in 1883, and died ten years later, in his 11th Street home.
