Excerpt from the National register nomination for the Tampico Main Street Historic District, which includes this building:
126 S. Main was constructed in 1899 by A. J . Glassburn, son of town founder John W. Glassburn. A. J. Glassburn was mayor of Tampico (1882-1885, 1887-1893, 1901-1902) and president of the Tampico State Bank, which occupied this building (1899-1931). Tampico National Bank occupied the building from 1957 until moving into their new building. It currently houses a lumber and hardware store.
