Regarding 111 Main Street. Excerpt from the National Register nomination for the Tampico Main Street Historic District, which includes this building:
111 S. Main (Ronald Reagan Birthplace) was built in 1896 for G. W. Stauffer. Ronald Reagan was born in the 2nd floor apartment on February 6, 1911. The Reagan family lived here from October 1, 1906 to May 5, 1911. The first floor housed a tavern from 1896 to 1915, and a bakery from 1915 to 1919. It served as the home of the First National Bank (1919-1931). Former owner and bank president R. F. Woods served as Mayor of Tampico (1913-1917).
