Excerpt: The Menighetsfakultetet is a scientific college for the education of priests, Christian teachers and catechists in the Church of Norway. The school was established on the basis of the desire for a more confessional theology teaching aimed at a pietistic and orthodox Lutheranism and at Norwegian revival traditions.(Submitted on August 11, 2023, by Andrew Ruppenstein of Lamorinda, California.)
St. Olavs gate 29 is a three-storey brick building built by master carpenter J. F. Maurer for Miss Falsen's Girls' School in 1879. Fredrikke Maurer, the master carpenter's daughter, was manager of the school. She had taken over the school after Miss Falsen's death in 1876. In 1891, the school was taken over by Olaf Berg, who also renamed the school Olaf Berg's school. The parish school took over the building in 1923 and occupied it until 1972 when their new house in Gydas Vei was completed.
