I dag er ejendommen

If there's one thing Amaliegade No. 4 has, it's that. With the Queen's backyard at one end and the prestigious Sankt Annæ Plads at the other, Amaliegade 4 lies in the sweet spot (literally “butter-hole”) of the pomp and splendor of the past.

The property was built in 1829-1830 for grocer Christian Rønnenkamp - a Danish landowner and philanthropist. No. 4 was a classic terraced house with a front house, side house and garden house. The facade towards the street was modified, but the courtyard was preserved. And there, right in the middle of Frederiksstaden, he built a sugar and salt refinery, which made life sweeter for the city's citizens.

Since then, the property has been inhabited by a number of personalities with big hats and big ambitions. The foreign minister from Denmark's first popularly elected government - Frederik Marcus Knuth, the trade minister and negotiator at the surrender of Schleswig and Holstein

- Christian Albrecht Bluhme, Count Carl von Moltke and the painter Viggo Johansen, have all resided in No. 4.

To this day, life is still lived behind the elegant whitewashed facades. Today the property is preserved and worth taking care of.
