Excerpt (in translation): Son of Ernest Dova and Rose Julie Le Guy, hoteliers, René Dova, a nineteen-year-old bachelor, was a member of the Passive Defense attached to the police headquarters. He was a stretcher-bearer in the 6th sector of Paris, a member of the F.F.I. On August 19, 1944, death accidentally mowed him down while he was on the barricade of the Quai des Grands-Augustins in Paris (VIth arrondissement).

The Ministry of Veterans and Victims of War awarded René Dova the honorific Mort pour la France ("Died for France").
