1. 101-103 West First Street Marker
Inscription. William J. McAlpine built this, Dixon's first “skyscraper”, for occupancy by Dixon National Bank in 1914. During the Depression, Board Member Charles Walgreen personally guaranteed all deposits with no loan foreclosures. In 1992 Dixon National was sold by the Lovett Family to Amcore, which was later acquired by Midland States.
