This was the location of the Collett Building, a baroque mansion built in 1719 and demolished in 1938. Main house rebuilt at the Norwegian Folk Museum.

Excerpt (in translation): On the property acquired by merchant James Collett in 1702, there was a building from the first years after the foundation of Christiania in 1624. The house was badly damaged during Carl XII's siege, and on the remains Collett built his baroque mansion in 1719. The new house had two courtyards - an exterior one for the servants and livestock and an interior for the family. The building was considered one of Christiania's finest residential buildings.

Through five generations, the family lived at Kirkegata 15. After the fire disaster in 1819, when large values were lost, Collett & Son had to suspend their payments. The property was sold and

became the bookseller family J.W. Cappel's property 1843. It was listed as a protected building in 1927, but still demolished in 1938! The building has been rebuilt at the Norwegian Folk Museum and occupies a central place in the museum's collection of houses from Christiania.
