How he died (in translation): On March 11, 1943 at 8:03 a.m., a commando of three FTP-MOIs… attacked about thirty German soldiers who had come out of the Hôtel Trianon, 1 rue Vaugirard, by throwing a Mills hand grenade at them at rue Dupuytren. The Resistance fighters fled via rue Monsieur-le-Prince. It was 8:30 a.m. At that time Jovan Kopitović, who was on his way to work, found himself swept away in a crowd movement and fled down the same street. Slower than the resistants, he was hit in the stomach by the shots of the German soldiers. Unconscious, he was evacuated to the Cochin hospital… where he died on March 12, 1943 at 6:35 p.m.(Submitted on August 17, 2023.)
