Inscription. Decorator of Venice Beach's Historic Amusement Park, Tabor was the personal assistant and friend of entrepreneur Abbot Kinney, the founder of Venice of America. Tabor reused old lumber from the historic Venice boat house as building material, some of which can still be seen today. Two of the cottages on this property originate from Abbot Kinney's St Mark's Island bungalow colony, later called "United States Island", and were transported to this site in 1922. Irving Tabor and his family lived on this compound until 1927, and owned the property until 1972. Irving Tabor lies buried next to his wife Ethel at the Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Santa Monica, just a few steps away from his mentor Abbot Kinney.
