Inscription. This is the site of the Main Street School grades 1 thru 12, built in 1896 with bricks from the Lowell brick yard. The high school students moved to a new high school in 1916. This school closed in 1973.

4. Main Street School
It was the second school on the site, replacing one that was built in 1867. The town subsequently razed this building in the 2010s after winning a court case.
