1. Monroe Community School Marker

Inscription. There was a large bell in the belfry of the Old Monroe School. It rang out over the valley, and unified the entire Granger community. Children came from all directions to beat its last clang. Some walked, others came in white topped horse drawn wagons, or buggies, often several children would be riding one horse. Sometimes in the winter, it would be a sleigh. After the Old Monroe School was torn down in 1924, the bell could not be found
