Excerpt (in translation): During the Second World War, he worked as a merchant and lived at 23 rue Boissy-d'Anglas, in Paris (VIIIth arr.) He joined the resistance group "Les Cloches des Halles", affiliated with the Liberation-North movement, of which he became the treasurer. He was arrested on September 24, 1942 and executed on December 4, 1943. The death certificate drawn up on December 5, 1943 on the declaration of Édouard Jeanmonod, 57, merchant, 9 rue Châteaubriand (Paris VIIIth arr.) mentions that he died at three o'clock in his home. The plaque at 14 rue Sauval indicates that he died in captivity. He is buried in the concession of the American Legion, in the new cemetery, in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Hauts-de-Seine). The death certificate does not bear the mention "Death for France" but it was approved by the Free French Forces (FFL).(Submitted on August 23, 2023.)
