The property meets the criteria for LAHCM designation because it reflects the broad cultural, economic, or social history of the nation, state, or community. The property is part of a community of buildings that are significant in the economic history of Los Angeles as the genesis of today's garment district, pioneered by Michael J. Connell. The Period of Significance ends at 2007, which is the year that the property opened as a condominium.
