Regarding Judge Stone House. Excerpt from the National Register nomination:
The property is the site of the first school house in Noblesville; this was a log structure. Earl S. Stone acquired the land in the late 1840's and had the house constructed in 1849. Stone was the county auditor from 1841 to 1844. In 1853 he was elected as the judge of a probate and common pleas court which had jurisdiction over several counties. He served until 1857, and although he had no enduring impact on the law, he was noted for his unusual behavior which added color to the local bar. After Stone's ownership the property passed through a number of hands until it was acquired by the present owner.
