property originally belonged to the Abbey of Auhausen an der Wörnitz and changed hands when the monastery was abolished by the Margrave of Ansbach in 1525. The Ansbach government then lent part of their Segnitz estates and thus also the wine press house at the upper gate to the Birkenfeld monastery. In the 18th century, the tithe house was part of the Freiherr-Zobel fiefdom and, after the old village rulership was dissolved, came into electoral Bavarian ownership in 1803, in 1806 in grand ducal Würzburg ownership and in 1814 in royal Bavarian ownership. The "Manorial House" became private property in 1827.
