1. Butler College Campus Site Marker
Inscription. You are standing at what was the east edge of the Butler campus, 1875-1928. The campus, 25 acres west to Emerson Avenue – as well as a $150,000 building fund – was a gift from the people of Irvington.
 
Erected 1967 by Butler University.

 Irvington and the Butler Campus. The university held a competition among the nearby neighborhoods to determine which would provide the most promising site for a new campus and the best financial support for the all-new facilities.
