1. Raymond Chandler Square Marker

Inscription. Gangsters, showgirls, filthy rich women, scam artists and a savvy private detective by the name of Philip Marlowe haunt this intersection. They were the characters in a series of mystery novels written by Raymond Chandler, who designated a fictional building at this intersection - the "Cahuenga Building" - as the central point of Philip Marlowe's activities. Some believe the bank building on the northeast corner was the inspiration for the "Cahuenga Building", where Marlowe's office was located.
