Regarding Taggart House. Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed this home for his mother-in-law. It has a pool, views, a double height living room, formal dining room, redwood paneling, and leaded glass windows. It has been restored.
Significance Statement:
The property meets the criteria for LAHCM designation because it embodies the "distinguishing characteristics of an architectural-type specimen, inherently valuable for a study of a period style or method of construction," as an excellent example of early Modern architecture with Mayan Revival influences. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr., it is the "notable work of a master builder, designer, or architect."
