While Domingo J. Sanllehy was mayor of Barcelona, the Society for the Attraction of Foreigners was founded and on its 60th anniversary the Center for Initiatives and Tourism honors the memory of he that was its promoter, Manuel Ribé Labarta.

3. Anti-tourism signs near Park Guell
The Society for the Attraction of Foreigners and its successors may have been too successful. It is not uncommon to see anti-tourism banners and graffiti in the city.
