Originally built as the Hollywood Recreation building, which housed a bowling alley, the building was converted to the TAV Celebrity Theatre and broadcast Tom Breneman's Breakfast in Hollywood, one of radio's most popular audience participation shows in the 1940s, as well as Frank Sinatra's The Lucky Strike Hit Parade. Other shows filmed here included The Merv Griffin Show, Jeopardy!, The Dating Game, and Hollywood Squares. Irving Berlin composed music in the upstairs offices. From 1949 to 1956, it served as ABC's West Coast studios.

Originally the Hollywood Recreation Building which housed a bowling alley, it became the site of one of radio's most popular audience participation shows in the 30s and 40s - Tom Breneman's "Breakfast in Hollywood".
