Hagley Museum near Wilmington in New Castle County, Delaware — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Springhouse
The two sections of this springhouse were used by the Belin family, who lived in the frame house across the road, and by the Alexis I. du Pont family, whose large house called "Hagley" stood on the hill above the Gibbons House. The families stored crocks of food in the cold spring water, which helped to retard spoilage.
