Inscription.  
Dispersos ao longo de 600 metros pela Praia de Angeiras, encontram-se seis núcleos de tanques, num total de 32 exemplares, escavados nos afloramentos rochosos durante a época romana (séculos III-IV d.C.). Estas cavidades, de formato retangular mas apresentando profundidades diversas, destinar-se-iam à salga de peixe e à produção de outros tipos de conservas de peixe, incluindo o afamado "garum". Junto a alguns destes tanques foram também identificadas estruturas constituidas por pavimentos compostos por seixos e barro e delimitados por pequenos muretes. São vestigios das salinas onde se extraia o sal necessário para a produção da salmoura nos tanques. Pela sua raridade e importância, este conjunto industrial romano encontra-se classificado desde 1970 como Monumento Nacional.

Spread along 600 meters along the Angeiras Beach, there are six clusters of tanks, amounting to 32 pieces, excavated in the rocks during the Roman period (3rd to 4th centuries AD). These rectangular cavities of different depths would be used for fish salting and the production of other types of canned fish, including the famous "garum". Close to some tanks, several structures were also detected, formed by pebbles and clay floors and enclosed by small stone walls.
