Westown in Milwaukee in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Herbert V. Kohler, Jr.
No one in the state of Wisconsin has done more to elevate the game of golf than Herbert V. Kohler, Jr. Always a passionate fan of professional golf, Mr. Kohler had the vision and perseverance to create two championship level golf courses in Wisconsin. Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits have hosted six separate Majors: the U.S. Women's Open two times; the PGA Championship three times; the U.S. Senior Open, and the Ryder Cup in 2020. Whistling Straits is "arguably the greatest championship course in the United States." These championships and their host Kohler courses, that were designed by Hall of Fame designer Pete Dye, have turned Wisconsin into an international golf destination and given fans the chance to see the game's best compete right here in Wisconsin. Kohler Co. also owns The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland, and Lodge Kohler in Green Bay's Titletown.
