1. Wilver Dornel “Willie” Stargell Marker
Inscription. Played high school baseball as an Encinal Jet here in Alameda. Played his entire 21-year MLB career for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Intimidating presence at the plate and charismatic personality in the clubhouse. Many of his 475 career homeruns were tape-measure shots. NL MVP, NL Championship MVP, and World Series MVP in 1979. Lifetime .282 hitter and his 1,540 RBI are the most ever by a Pirate. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988.
