Inscription.
To honor Stephen Fuller Austin, the Father of Texas,
the children of Guadalupe County planned this tree
in the year of his 207th birthday, November 3, 1793.

This Live Oak tree was germinated from the huge Live Oak tree
that stands today on the site where
Stephen F. Austin died January 27, 1836, near West Columbia, Texas.

Bill E. Price, an honorary member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas,
funded the production of the tree,
and the Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels Chapter of the SRT
sponsored the ceremony of planting this Stephen F. Austin Oak Tree
on October 28, 2000

 
Erected 2010 by Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels (New Braunfels) Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas; the Abashai Mercer Dickson (Seguin) Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
