Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class (ADE3), USNR - WWII
U. S. Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida

As an Aviation Machinist's Mate (Engine Mechanic), Dick was trained and responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing various aircraft engine types, as well as, accessories, gear boxes, related fuel and lubrication systems; determining reasons for engine degradation using various test equipment, performing propeller repairs, handling and servicing aircraft ashore or aboard ship; and, serving as crewman in various types of aircraft.

Enlisted 12 July 1944-Honorably Discharged 20 July 1954
