A Sharpshooter & Aircraft Mechanic, Don received his training at Seymour Johnston Air Base in Golsboro, NC and then at AAFTS, Santa Maria, CA. He was later transferred to Camp Stoneman, CA, the largest Pacific coast World War II staging area for units deploying to the Pacific Theater of Operations where he served until his discharge.
