After completing boot camp and training at the US Army Quartermaster School at Fort Lee, Virginia, Aldan was deployed to Vietnam where he was attached to the 51st Medical Company-Ambulance. However, as a Hospital Food Service Cook, he was needed and re-assigned on TAD orders to the 311th Field Hospital, where he served for his entire year in country. Upon his return to the United States he was assigned to and served at HHC, Seneca Army Depot, Romulus, NY until his discharge from Active Duty. He later served with the US Army Reserve and Army National Guard of New York.
