Varina Hotel
Circa 1924
Dr. J. M. Judd, James Luther Adcock, A. W. Thompson, and R. M. Dickens owned the Varina Hotel. Hotel rooms occupied the upper story while the downstairs featured a dining room and lobby for hotel guests. During WW II the draft board and others used rooms upstairs.
James Judd and eventually Parkers Furniture operated a furniture store on the left side of the building. Cotten's Furniture occupied the right side of the building. Both stores utilized the upstairs for storage and operated side by side until 1988.
From the early 2000's the building operated as several different restaurants and in 2011 the building started operation as Aviator SmokeHouse.
