USS Stormers (DD-780), Destroyer Squadron 32

Aboard the USS Stormers with the 7th Fleet in the South China Sea and Tonkin Gulf, Larry's experiences in the Vietnam I Ceeps area were many his ship compiled an impressive combat record, including providing onshore naval gunfire, protective carrier screening for the USS Constellation against attack by enemy submarines, surface vessels and aircraft. the was also assigned to a Landing Party in support of allied ground troops and performed temporary additional duty aboard the submarine, USS Perch (APSS 313).
