Jack Massey and John Y. Brown buy Kentucky Fried Chicken corporation from Colonel Sanders.

1969
KFC Corporation purchases the Colonel’s restaurant in Corbin and converts it into a Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant.

1973
John R. Neal purchases the KFC in Corbin

1980
Death of Colonel Harland Sanders on December 16.

1988-1989
Corbin restaurant closed for restoration, September 19. JRN moves restaurant to a temporary facility. Restoration of Harland Sanders Café begins in July.

1990
Harland Sanders Café and Museum opens for the centennial of Colonels birth September 9. Millions of visitors continue to make the pilgrimage.
