During a career lasting more than two decades, Gary served with distinction at Air Force installations in the U. S., Turkey and Spain. The following, taken from Meritorious Service Medal citation: "Magt Gary J. Noxon, as NCOIC and Superintendent of Passenger Operations at Philadelphia, asserted strong leadership and expertise in the successful management of Department of Defense customers at Air Mobility Commands' largest gateway. His management technique and exemplary ability allowed the gateway to handle the processing of over 5,000 troops returning monthly from Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The accomplishments of Msgt Noxon culminated a distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force." of Msgt Nowon culminate the United States Air Force."
