Delbert Gordon Searle
Headquarters Battery, 57th Field Artillery Battalion, 7th Infantry Division
Corporal Searle was a Jeep Driver and Field Wireman with his unit. On 6 December 1950, during the withdrawal from Hagaru-ri near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea, Delbert was wounded in the leg and put in a convoy of trucks. The convoy was later ambushed and he was listed as Missing In Action. Delbert was presumed dead on 31 December 1963; however, his remains were never recovered. He was the 1st Korean War casualty from Sidney.
