Inscription. This grand house was constructed by George Henry Curry in 1886. It is one of 7 Curry Mansions in Key West, and built by the children of Florida's first millionaire William Curry. Much of the family's wealth was built on servicing the sailing and wrecking industries during the 1800s. George Curry was the president of the family's Key West Light and Power Company and the Key West Ice Company. This Grande Dame stands as part of the legacy of the Curry family.
