front door (door opening onto the parking lot). Although the building has a Highway 395 address, the marker itself is located on the Esmeralda Street side of the building.

From the Take a Walk, and DISCOVER MINDEN! brochure, by Wynne Maule: "...1909: The first Heidelberg bar opens for business in May 1909 under the ownership of Fritz Dangberg, a cousin of the town's founders....1910: Fritz Dangberg builds a new Heidelberg saloon, an all brick building located at Third and Esmeralda streets. The building eventually becomes home to the Minden Grocery Store, followed by the Pony Express Restaurant and then by Francisco's Mexican Restaurant, its current occupant."
